Maniakalani Film Festival

 Manaiakalani Film Festival

On Wednesday the 11th of November it was the Manaiakalani Film Festival. On Wednesday as the bell rang the whole of Team 5 got ready for the Karakia, Mihi and the Notices. Soon as the Karakia started I was really excited and thinking about the Manaiakalani Film Festival Trip. Then after the Karakia we started our Mihi. The Mihi was not long, so Mrs Tele’a gave out the Notices. Then a few minutes Mrs Tele’a dismissed us back to our classes.

Then we went back to our classrooms and sat down, so Miss Hockly can do the roll call. After the roll call we had go to our Literacy Classes. Miss Hockly dismissed us to our Literacy Classes. As soon we got dismissed we started Literacy. We had Literacy for 1 hour and 45 minutes because, we had Morning Tea early so we can leave early to the Manaiakalani Film Festival.

As soon as the Morning Tea bell rang we went back to our classes and had our Morning Tea. So we only had 10 minutes of Morning Tea. So we didn't play we just had to eat and go Toilet because we weren't allowed to go Toilet over at Cinema's. After our eating we went to the Toilet and then came back to class. We came back to class just in time to go. So we all went and sat down in the street to get ready to go. As soon as we sat down Mrs Nua called out the names of people that she's gonna go with on the first bus. After Mrs Nua picked those people they left.

After that Miss Hockly said “Room 4 stand up” so we stood up and then Miss Hockly lead the way to the bus. As soon we got on the bus  we sat down and waited for the next class to come in and that was Room 2. As Room 2 walked in the bus the bus driver turned on the bus. After everyone was settled we left Pt England School. So it took us a few minutes to get like about 13 minutes. When we got there Miss Clarke told us a few things where we go.

So we walked out the Bus and also said Thank You to the bus driver. As soon we walked out we saw where we had to cross so we crossed the road walked into Sylvia Park. As we walked inside Tamaki Primary just walked out. So we walked inside and felt it was so cold like freezing ice blocks because, it was so windy inside because when we looked up there was not much roof up there. We got to the stairs it felt a bit warmer. So we walked up the stairs and walked straight to where our Theater was. So we all walked in and then had to stop by the door so Ruapotaka can settle their first and we walk in. So Ruapotaka just settled themselves and we walked in walked to the middle and sat on the left corner.

As soon as we got settled we started they turned the lights off and then we started Manaiakalani Film Festival. So we watch some of Some of our Movies first then we watched some of Ruapotaka’s Movies. Ruapotaka only had like 6 or 7 movies and we had heaps but we didn't get to see all of it because we didn't have enough because, we had to watch some of Ruapotaka’s Movie.

After the Manaiakalani Film Festival they turned the lights back on. After everyone walked out we walked straight down stairs. As we got to the floor we walked straight outside and stood there and waited for our buses. While we were standing out there some of were freezing like ice blocks again because, we weren't wearing a jumper or a jacket because, we thought it will be sunny. While we were waiting we sat down because the bus took a few minutes to come it like took 10 minutes to wait for the bus, So a few minutes got here and we power walked straight into the bus because, it was so windy. When we got in the bus I put my head on the window and closed my eyes so my eyes can rest because, it was so sore from staring at the Manaiakalani Movies. So slept for a few minutes and when we got back to school my friend May woke me up so we can go back to our classes. While we walked out some people didn't want to get out of the bus. So we walked out and then we also said Thank You again to the bus driver. After that the next bus just got here so the whole of Team 5 was all there so the whole of Team 5 walked in the street and walked into their classes to have their Lunch.

Immersion Assembly

Kia Ora! “Today is the beginning of Term 4” “Woohoo”! I hope you enjoy my writing about our Immersion Assembly. "It's So Awesome". Hope Enjoy It!

Survivor - Immersion Assembly

“Woohoo”! “Today is the beginning of Term 4” While we were getting ready for the day the bell rang. Me and my friend May quickly ran to the the street for our morning assembly. While Mrs Tele’a finishing off her notices we were quietly waiting. Finally Mrs Tele’a finished her notices. She then said “Can Room 4 please stand up and walk quietly down to the hall”

Soon as we got to the hall we sat down and quietly waited for the other classes to come and sit down. Finally they sat down and we started our Immersion Assembly. The first team to start was Team 1, then Team 2, after that was Team 3, after Team 3 it was Team 4. Finally it was Team 5. So when their song started I enjoying it so much. When the Teacher got up on the stage they were wearing wearing something to represent their culture.

As Mr Wiseman was telling the story about who’s gonna survive. The teachers had to do a challenge where they had to eat the most noodles in 30 seconds using chopsticks.  It Was So Fun. While the time was counting down Ms Clark just finished her whole plate. When she finished her plate everyone else had to stop eating. Then Mr Wiseman announced the person that survived. And that was Ms Clark.

Then after that Ms Peato came in and said” It’s not fair because I come from Samoa and we don’t it with chopsticks, we eat with our hands.” Then Mesela came in and said “Yeah it’s not fair because I come from Tonga and we don’t eat with chopsticks either.” Then Mr Wiseman asked Ms Hookly.
“What about you?” “ Ohh we sometimes eat with chopsticks in Japan, but it’s not that hard to eat with chopsticks.” Then Ms Ingram said “I don’t really eat with chopsticks because we don’t come from Japan, we just eat with forks, the normal things.”

Then Mr Wiseman announced the winner again, and it was Ms Clark. So Mr Wiseman asked her did she finished plate in almost 30 seconds, Then Ms Clark answered “Ohh it’s so easy to with chopsticks because  my culture, we always eat with chopsticks and that's how I win” “Woohoo” After that, they all cleaned up their mess and walked down the stage and then they finished their show.

Te Oro Recount

Kia Ora, Bloggers! In our Literacy Class we started a Graphic Organise also a Recount. This Graphic Organiser was a Recount about "Something You Did For The First Time". So our Literacy Class has been working on Recount today because we are starting our writing test next term so "Good Luck" to us! Hope You Like My Te Oro Recount :)

Te Oro

Firstly, When I started Te Oro I was so shy. My Group was called the Nesian Fusion. I did not want to walk into the room to start our lessons because I was very shy.

Then, My friend May helped me feel happy, so we walked into the room and started our dance lessons then I felt more happy that my friend had me happy.

After that, Me, May and my other friend Paige had to learn a Samoan dance and the other people had to learn the stick dance, which it was very hard to learn. It took them a few weeks to learn so I felt so nervous that they might drop it and will be embarrassing.

Finally, Our Practices were done. So we had to perform at Pt England School Hall on Friday the 18th and then on Saturday the 19th we performed at Te Oro. I was so nervous that we had perform at Pt England School Hall and also at Te Oro, I felt like I was gonna Cry.
